Hey guys..i've been playin the clarinet for a few months and what i noticed is that the note that i play is very much different from what my other friends play. my sound is very strange and funny in a sense. can u guys help my giving me some advise on what i should do pls??

Also what instruments are your friends playing?
Perhaps your friends are playing in a different key, even though you are all looking at the same music score.

Erm..i'm really sry guys..as i have told u guys..i'm just a new player and dun really know much about those clarinet.
Actually i'm just tryin to look for some advise on basics things like the Embouchure, the way i should breath or whatever..
Basically, i'm just tryin to learn how a newbie play should play the clarinet..

Of course, you are SUPPOSED to sound "different" from your buddies on the guitar or trumpet (or piano, depending on what kind of friends you have) (even if you are all playing in the same key).
That's the whole point.
;-)
Ask around at your neighborhood music shop - they might be able to point you toward (beginner) lessons which would get you started in the right direction.

My guess is that the reed is either way too hard, or way too light. That would give your sound a real problem and if you are new, you wouldn't be able possibly to voice that the reed is too soft. You would just hear the muffled sound.
What is your mouthpiece brand and reed strength (and brand too)?

cerberusx you're being too abstract for anyone to really be able to help you.
Find out things like your reed, it's strength, and what make & model your clarinet is (and what pitch it is) then we can actually help you.
