The Gigliotti recording sets a high standard. It's on a great LP featuring the First Chair soloists in Philadelphia, as of, I think, the late 1950s. (Tabuteau was still there.) You see it often in the cutout bins.
I second GBK's recommendation of Jon Manasse. He does everything right.
