Buffet R-13 Eb soprano GREENLINE clarinets
Author: OrangeCaesar

I have been searching everywhere, calling music store after music store, and still no definitive answer. Do any of you know if Buffet makes an R-13 Greenline "Eb" soprano clarinet & if so, where I would be able to acquire one?

Thanks,
Caesar

The RC Prestige Eb is offered in Greenline. The model number is BC1507G ...GBK

Thanks GBK!
However, the RC Prestige is a little rich for my blood (costs too much), I was wondering if they made the regular R-13 Eb in Greenline.
Hopefully, they do.

Caesar, my wife and I own a Buffet dealership in New Jersey, and looking at the 2004 dealer guide there is not a Greenline version of either the R-13 or the RC Eb clarinets. The RC Prestige as Glenn observed is the only one available that way thus far, and it is a very fine instrument (and pricey as you point out).

They have separate tools for machining the Greenline instruments, and it may well be that there aren't enough R-13 Eb's produced to be worth tooling up to do a Greenline version to date. The RCP is by far the more popular instrument worldwide (I play the RCP myself).

With any luck (for us as well as the Mpingo tree), they will eventually offer all of their principal instruments in Greenline versions. I'll pass along your interest to Francois Kloc just in case Buffet is keeping track of demand in certain models.

nsloss,

I just don't understand the logic behind making only the most expensive Buffet Eb available in Greenline. Oh, well. Not quite what I wanted to hear, but thanks to you (with the message that you said that you are going to pass on to Francios Kloc) they might eventually make other models of the Eb in the Greenline version.

Thank you all the same for your response!! I truly appreciate it!!!
