Aloha
I'm taking annual leave and spending a couple of weeks in Hawaii next year in August ... catching up with some American friends. To my surprise I find there is an orchestra in Honolulu, not only that but it's quite a big one. Can anyone who has heard them tell me what I might expect if I were to book a concert?
thanks
Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.

You will have a very enjoyable time! Not only will you hear traditional works but also many talented local musicians accompanied by the HS which I think sets them apart from other symphonies anywhere else. (IMHO!)

I once played "next to" a former clarinetist with that organization, and he was an excellant musician and player. They must be good as well............

David Shifrin was principal in Honolulu before becoming principal in Cleveland. It probably is still an above average orchestra.
