Music is the one incorporeal entrance into the higher world of knowledge which comprehends mankind but which mankind cannot comprehend.

He doesn't look 234! What's his secret?

Just discovered by musicologists - The 1820 transcript of the last "knock knock" joke played on him by his student, Ludwig Spohr:
Spohr: "Knock knock!"
Beethoven: . . .
Spohr: (louder) "Knock knock!"
Beethoven: . . .
Spohr: (even louder) "KNOCK KNOCK!"
Beethoven: . .

Alexi - Who about a half hour before writing this got into an accident and dented up the fender of a BMW. And now has to pay for it.

I would like to thank the comic strip Peanuts for reminding me of this.

How many R-13's can you buy with a BMW fender? I play a SML how does it compare with a BMW? Sorry about the BMW - Knock, Knock jokes. Happy birthday Beethoven! I will listen to his clarinet and basoon piece tonight in his honor.

I don't know about fenders but a trunk lid & bumper costs 2 and a half R13s ... from experience.

When I was about 14, I had all my friends over for a Beethoven's birthday party. We played recordings of all 9 symphonies, one after the other, as well as goofy games like "Pin the Hearing Aid on Ludwig". What can I say - I was a strange child.

No stranger than your friends!
As for myself, a peanuts fan (I often liken myself to Charlie Brown), I remember that clip very well. It's in one of the Peanuts compilations I have, as well as the next few days (if they continue running them sequentially in the paper) will be about Beethoven's birthday also and how no one aside from Schroeder seemed to care
Alexi - Who has 8 more days before he watches his copy of the Peanuts Christmas special . . . which, BTW, has GREAT music.

I'm sure for Clarinetists it certainly could!
btw, I had 3 Piano teachers
One of the other ones (Fiorillo) was one of only 5 students of Horowitz. Ironically, he played the Clarinet at a high level too. I choose Clarinet, he choose piano but he encouraged me to be a Pianist if I had wanted to.
I wasn't that crazy.
But the lineage enables me to be able to charge $350 hr for teaching
(kidding)
