A couple years ago, I bought a Selmer Series 10 (not a 10G, but just a fairly dated 10, probably from around 1970) that had been reconditioned by Tom Ridenour. I matched one of his T-40 mouthpieces to it, and it plays like a dream: Great versatility for jazz and classical, fine intonation, warm and sweet timbre, even in the throat tones. Has (or does) anyone else play a Series 10? Just curious.

Wow! I am new to this board this week and to my (pleasant) surprise, I find this post about the Selmer Series 10. I also play on a Series 10 (just a plain 10) and I love my clarinet! I bought it when I was in college and other than some initial adjustment issues (unfortunately just prior to my senior year recital) I have been more than happy with the horn. My Series 10 came with a 10 B barrel and bell.
I had the barrel rebored (which too care of most of my initial adjustment issues) and since then I have only had to keep up routine maintenance on it - no other problems!
I have found it to have good intonation and a nice warm tone pretty much across the board.
