Is there a standard key #/ letter system

I am wondering if there is a standard number or letter system to describe specific keys on the clarinet. I have Gustauve Langenus's chart with letters, but often see references to numbers when people discuss alternate fingerings on this board. I am confused and often lost.

"Just when you think you've got it figured out they change it!" I guess you'll have to get all the charts and keep them handy......like I intend to do some day. Yes, it's confusing.

There is no standard system. That is why there is a picture on each fingering chart so that you can see what is intended on that particular chart.
