yeah... well some of this stuff is random... of course, you could order it in...
1. Reeds (and all their evilness)
2. Clarinet parts and brands and whatnot
3. Other random stuff...

It would actually be very easy to do (there arealready two other BBoards, one for Ethnic Clarinet and one for Oboe), but, as a long-time visitor on many BBoards ...
It doesn't work well when the subjects are very close in nature. Way more than half the traffic on the BBoard is made up of questions about setups (reeds, mouthp[ieces, ligatures, clarinets) and the remaining posts are more or less evenly scattered about every other topic.
What generally happens is that one or two of the BBoards become heavily used, and then all the subjects end up being discussed there - and you're back to where you started.
If you separate them by "novice", "amateur", and "professional", then everyone posts on the "professional" board - because that's where the most experienced people are!
As it is, the Ethnic Clarinet BBoard has light traffic for an immensely popular genre ...

Many of our threads derail into other subjects. It would be havoc seperating them.

I am slowly going through all the archives and deleting the numerous threads which have little or no value.
Thus, the more informative postings will be a bit easier to locate...GBK

I agree with MC completely. Unless a board has so much traffic that one board can't handle it all (like GameFAQs, which on average has 3500 members on the boards at any given minute), it makes more sense to keep everything in one place. When less popular categories stop receiving as much discussion, and people start using the general boards for the occasional questions from those categories as MC mentioned, either those old boards become worthless, or if the mods/admins are very strict and say "keep to topicality rules", that subject just doesn't get discussed at all.

Just wanted to say that of all the boards I've ever used, this one is the best -- quick loading, easy to navigate, consistently interesting, informative, and largely on-topic. I do believe we can put stars in the crowns of both Mark and Glenn for that.
I honestly don't know how you guys do it, with the amount of traffic you get.
It would drive me cuckoo.
Thanks for the great job.
