It's a little expensive, though.

Yes, the Virgin Mary will take good care of your reeds by means of the Immaculate Adjustment.

Has anyone tried keeping reeds in a pyramid?

Neil -

In 1974 Martin Gardner, the Mathematical Puzzles editor of the Scientific American, decided to see whether he could create an urban legend. He wrote a purportedly serious article claiming that he had made a pyramid-shaped container that perserved foods without refrigeration, kept razor blades sharp, etc. He had his favorite spoof expert, Dr. Matrix, explain that the pyramid shape "reflected energy" that did the magical work.

The hoax was so good that it spread worldwide. I subscribed to Scientific American at the time and remember the uproar. Pyramid-shaped boxes were sold all over the place. Gardner wrote that even when he revealed the hoax, he couldn't kill it, and obviously the story is still current.

See http://www.g4g4.com/paul/BOOK.pdf at p. 9.

Best regards.

Ken Shaw

I now know how to make enough money in a week to buy a whole family of professional clarinets! The human brain is wired to find recognizable patterns and often does so where there are none, turning a random occurance into something recognizable. Now, I could toast a thousand pieces of bread, waiting until one ended up with a pattern that looks somewhat like a face. However, I know how to force the bread to toast to whatever image I want! (I'd be tempted to tell the local media about my miraculous toast, but I don't want a crowd of pilgrims coming to my house.)

Ah, but you will have to keep the toast around for 10 years before revealing it to the world, as did the lady with the cheese.

Do you think YOU can keep it from spoiling - without keeping it under a pyramid, of course?

But bringing this closer to home...

Have you looked closely at some of the markings on the bark portion of your reeds?

When Marcellus' face shows up on one of your reeds, let me know.

Till then... ...GBK
