What's the safest way for both parties to transact a clarinet purchase? I've been searching, rather unsuccessfully, for an used R-13. There are a few that interest me on the classifieds on this site and I wanted to know if there was any way to insure that I get what is advertised.

The only way to insure is to meet the seller and check the clarinet before you buy. Dishonest sellers don't write it in their ads.

It'll cost a bit of a premium, but it depends if that premium is worth it to you or not.
