I hope this is allowed, but I want to say a word of praise for Sneezy sponsor, John Butler and his instrument restorations. He just did a great job for me on a Leblanc Concerto. Highly recommend his services. Quick and knowledgeable. Also, his comments on the board are always appreciated. It's nice to know the clarinet community has such great people.

I have used John in the past and just recently to redo a TR147 that I am using for comparison purposes and he is a superb and honest individual, knowledgable master technician, fast, and reasonably priced for his work. I have become disgruntled with the local folks, although I try to stay local where possible, and will send work to him whenever possible. Y'all should do the same!

Our local guy is not very good, or reliable. He let his 12 year old son do one of my instruments the last time I took one in to him. Some of it had to be redone--and the guy knew I used it for solos, etc. I was very frustrated. So, it was nice to send it off to John and not have to spend $400.00. He did cork pads on the upper and did a wonderful job.

It's hard to find a good technician, that's why I mentioned John's work.

John Butler has overhauled both my Selmer N & Leblanc 200, his work is impeccable! Currently he's working on my Selmer BT, this gentleman is a true craftsman and a delight to deal with.

Folks, I couldn't agree more!! John restored a Selmer CT for me last spring and did a superb job. His attention to detail is amazing; nothing is just "good-enough", or "passable". As an example, one dosen't normally think of the instrument case as being included as part of the restoration. Well, the original case on my CT had some torn binding around the edges. No, John didn't re-sew the binding, but he did carefull glue it back in place at many points. The leather is getting old and dry and stitching wouldn't have held anyway .........

A true artisan with the heart of an angel!! Incidentally, the horn plays like a dream ........ Thanks, John

Joe.

Yes, John is a fine repair tech who exhibts quality craftsmanship.
Over the years, he's overhauled 5 of my R13 Bb's, 2 A'a and 3 eefers. Each was done with consistency, quality materials and workmanship. Personally, his work is beyond reproach. When my C and Alto Sax's need work, John will get the call.

It's been said that repeat customers are the best indication of one's work. I add, that a nationally renowned Buffet technican (and repair tech himself) complimented the quality of overhauls when play testing several of my clarinets. It was afterward, that he inquired who did the work. I personally know players across the country that have used John's services and all were delighted with his work.

Rather than elaborate on what John includes in an O/H, I suggest you contact him direct. He's a BB sponsor, has a web site, is quite personable and will readily answer any concerns that one may have.

regards
dennis
