Mark or anybody,
Do you know of any model names on the custom built Wurlitzers? There is a "Lyric" model on Ebay. Might be interesting if it is one of the better models.
Any help would be appreciated

Arnold,
Somebody suggested you might be able to help me determine a model name of a wurlitzer clarinet. Here is a hotlink to the ebay item.

By the description, this doesn't sound like a student model. Even with the crack, might be a good deal!
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin

I suspect this is a product of Wurlitzer, US rather than the super expensive German Wurlitzer. Probably an intermediate grade instrument comparable to a Buffet Evette. Wurlitzer, US was a major stenciler/importer of instruments. You see many Wurlitzer C Melody saxes (and other types of saxes)on eBay which were made under contract by Conn, Buescher, and Martin. I believe they were based in Ohio.

The U.S. Wurlitzer (absolutely no relationship to the German Wurlitzer, as far as I know) also marketed many Vito clarinets and low clarinets under their name. In high school I played on a rented Wurlitzer bass clarinet which was identical to a Vito except for the name on it.

I have a "Fairfield" manufactured by E.U Wurlitizer of Boston, Mass. I posted a question concerning the manufacturer about 2 years ago. I state "Boston, Mass" because that is what is imprinted on the Horn.
