 Paragon clarinet
Author: oldiejim2

Digging through an old trunk, I found a paragon clarinet with the numbers 5756C on two pieces of the instrument.
I would like any information I could have about it's origin (know was made in France), if it is still in use and anything else pertinant to it.
Thank you in advance for the information.

Paragon, "a model --- of excellemce" per my Webster, BUT, Mark C's 1999 post [do a search] lists it [only] as a tradename used by a Volkwein Co. about WW I time. Who knows?, are you going to restore it into playing condition, so we all will know ?? Don

Thanx, Mark, Don

I just recently restored a hard-rubber Paragon Eb clarinet, using tan leather pads as is my habit, and it plays pretty well. No markings on it whatsoever other than "Paragon" on the bell. No serial number, no country of origin....nothing! The mechanical design is definitely 1920-30-ish.
