ive searched and searched and read many posts...i just simply don't understand how it is that i can adjust my reeds. I bought the vandoren resurfacer, so i have the means to adjust them. It's just, i don't know what is is that i can do to the reed to "fix" it. And i don't know what exactly is wrong with the reed so i would know how to fix it, if i even knew how to fix it. I've seen this ATG system mentioned several times, though i have no idea if its a book or what. I'm just lost. I've i have overlooked a critical thread from long ago, please tell me so.
Btw, im using vandoren v-12 reeds and a lomax a4 classic mouthpiece.
I have tried Gonzalez reeds before, and they were wonderful at first, but they seemed to just become really edgy later on. I Followed the directions on the davie cane website and even had some help from Phil Shapiro. I don't knowmif the problem was the tip of the reeds ruffling up a little bit or what. i'm going to order another box of FOF reeds soon and try to work with them again, b/c i really badly want an alternative to vandoren.
thank you for any advice.

Larry Guy put out a book on reed adjustment that has loads of info in it.
The ATG system is a simple way of taking material off reeds (essentially sanding) that is works well and can be performed easily.
A search on reed adjustment will probably turn up some info you can use.
