 BG Revelation Bass Ligature

I recently bought one of these and notice something about it which warrants further comment.

The degree of "hump" on reeds varies. This ligature uses three rails to hold the reed on. When I use Marca, all three rails make contact (though I suspect the outer rails impart much less pressure than the central one, since there is some compliance in the metal band that supports the three rails). When I use Queen or Alexander Superial, I get either the central rail alone making contact, or the ligature sits to one side, giving contact with two out of the three rails (though in this case the pressure of the contact cannot be even). This leads me to wonder whether it is the design intention that the holding pressure should in reality be only in the centre, via that rail, with the other two acting in effect as safety buffers, or whether certain reeds cannot, in theory, work with this ligature.

I am aware that if I tightened the screw enough, all three rails would "touch down", but then, after some while, the lig would be bent so it could not work optimally with reeds such as Marcas, and in any case, all that would achieve would be a very high pressure in the centre, and much less pressure at the sides.

Any observations would be welcome.
