There are no "best" pads.
There are many different types of high quality pads, eg cork, microfiber, bladder, leather, Norbeck, Valentino, Evatex, ..... with different strengths and weaknesses.
For some of these types there is a huge range in quality available, and many variations of felt type etc.
Top quality pads, and certain varieties, are generally unsuitable if the mechanical function of the instrument and the tone hole faces are not in top condition, and are hardly suitable for inexperienced DIY installation.

Well in response to the first post, I do get a dark rich sound but I was just wondering if there was anything(besides practice which I do quite a bit of) that could enhance it even futher. In response to the second post, My pads need to be replaced and last time I got my pads replaced(on my old clarinet) my instrument never played right again(my teacher said it wasn't due to the person who installed it but it was due to how crappy the pads were.) Also I really know crap in terms of good quality mouthpeices and reeds(besides vandorens). Does anyone have a link that gives good info about mouthpeices and reeds(mouthpeice/reed combos would be even better)

Jeff,
Do a search on the BBoard for 'mouth pieces' and/or 'reeds' and you will get more than you every wanted to know.

As for the pads, Dave Spiegelthal (above) did a FANTASTIC job padding my Bb. You might want to drop him an email and ask about it. BTW, he uses tan leather pads. I haven't had a problem with sealing or even spit in a sidekey since (it's been quite a few months running too).
As for mouthpieces, if you take a quick look on www.wwbw.com on clarinet mouthpieces, you'll notice probably more than 100 mouthpieces. And I'll GUARENTEE that there's at least one person for every mouthpiece that'll tell you that HIS/HER is the best.
I say figure out what tip opening/facing you seem to like and then do some searching around there (even if you have to try a few mouthpeices just to figure out what tip opening/facing you like).
It's been MY experience (as limited as that is) that if you find a mouthpiece that plays easily, gives you good flexibility, and has a nice tone you can adjust to whatever tip opening/facing it has with practice. So I say try out whatever seems to fancy you and see if you like the SOUND and response moreso than whether it feels 'wierd' to your embouchure. Cause your embouchure will adjust.

"I got my pads replaced(on my old clarinet) my instrument never played right again(my teacher said it wasn't due to the person who installed it but it was due to how crappy the pads were.) "
I beg to differ. A worthwhile technician would not use crappy pads!
And if a good technician was FORCED to use crappy pads, he would install them in such a way that they still had proper sealing and venting. Hence they would not detract with any significance from how the instrument played.
