The WW Quintet I'm in was asked to play at couple nursing homes. We have enough standard repetoire (most of which too heavy for the envionment)but thought we should have some Christmas/Holiday stuff. Anyone have suggestions of good arrangements. I also remember hearing the "12 days" done as Theme and variations, it included musical styles from Wagner to Jazz to Mozart and even a very dissonate contempoary section. Does this ring a bell to anyone?

"too heavy for the environment" --- really, not been my experience.
I've worked with many retirement villages over the last few years and, believe me, there's nothing the oldies hate more than having music dumbed down for them.
Give them something to stimulate their brains, not bring up their tripe.
As to Christmas music, buy some 10 stave manuscript paper and do your own arrangements, if it's just cheesy Christmas tunes they're a piece of cake to arrange.
Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.
