I have a Selmer Series 9 and considering buying another. The new one has two stars (**) over the serial number number; mine doesn't. What do the stars mean ?

This was discussed in the past here on the BB --- I wasn't paying too much attention at the time, but I believe it means the original joint had cracked and Selmer provided a replacement joint, using the same serial number but with a star added (I thought a single star, though).
But I could be wrong (probability 72.6%)...

I would notify the Office of Homeland Security if I were you, and the EPA while you're at it.

The stars have sub-miniature microphones installed by British intelligence as part of a grand conspiracy headed by the Duke of Edinburgh and the Tri-Lateral Commission.
And of course Paul is dead.

Of the above, I agree ONLY with Dave S, its prob. a replacement joint. My Selmer bass cl has two differing ser #'s which tells me that the lower joint was replaced by a [very similar, possibly better? ] L J. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

Oh, how soon they forget - or are we just getting older? Yes, Paul McCartney was in another band before Wings.
