Ravel to die for

Did anyone else hear the broadcast last night (Melbourne Symphony, Iwaki): Daphnis et Chloe (complete)?

It was the most extraordinarily beautifully shaped performance with some delicious wind playing ... Iwaki must have been in a hurry to get to a nice restaurant afterwards, the tempi were merciless.

Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.

My favorite Daphnis is Dutoit, MSO, their first and still best recirding.

I agree, but I was referring to a broadcast performance, not a live one ... for the record, I own the Dutoit and Montreal Symph., yes, it's a beauty.
