 Woodwinders in the News Dept.
Author: jim S.

The New Yawk Times has a profile today of McCall Smith, author of the highly praised "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency". Though he has taken a leave of absence from his job as professor of medical law at the U. of Edenburgh in order to write full time, he is continuing his musical career as a bassoonist with the Really Terrible Orchestra. It is described as "aggressively bad" with "quite a following...not all of them relatives".

Oh, would that we had such an orchestra for me in my home town.
