Where are the Chadash 64 MM for A

I'm calling around and for some reason all these stores aren't carrying the 64 anymore. This poses a problem for me since the 65 that came with my A clarinet is causing me to play uncomfortably flat. I know part of the reason is my m30 13 plays rather flat but i rather find a shorter barrel than changes mouthpieces for my A clarinet.

Make sense?

Have the 65 shortened.
Or get a 64 made by Guy or Pyne or Fobes or that surgeon who makes them on oibay. load of ways to choose.

Buffet Chadash barrels are just in short supply relative to the demand out there. If you really need it, just contact Guy and have him make one for you. Don't cut down your 65mm -- you may change mouthpieces some day and regret not having the longer barrel.

if you are experimenting with barrel/mouthpiece combinations don't forget the Scott barrels- they are (in my opinion) not quite as good as the Pyne synthetic ones, but only cost $40us from Muncy (haven't noticed them anywhere else).
my experience with these has been that the tuning on them is very very similar to the Moenig and Chadash barrels i have- so i assume they have a reverse cone taper. One friend (Principal of NZSO) commented that he didn't think it sounded as quite good as my Moenig... another (Assoc Principal in China) thought it sounded indistinguisable from her Chadash, but everyone who's sat the test has agreed that it sounds better than the stock R13 barrel i have (which was picked out as the best of the bunch years ago when i bought my Bflat clarinet)
i would suggest that if you are still waiting in earnest, why not buy one of these so that you can use it until you've got the chance to sample and buy the Chadash you are after?
