Does anyone know where the Brancher company is located? *I have had a standing order on a Brancher ligature with WW/BW since June and every month, the date gets moved back another month...still waiting. WW/BW says the manufacturer keeps moving the dates of delivery. I'm just wondering where this company is....I cant find out any info on the internet at all. IS this a n actual company or just a psuedonym?

Brancher ligatures are made by Bois-Chaux in France. Their E-mail and website does not function, if it ever did. I believe the reeds and neckstraps are made by different companies and all products are distributed by Leblanc.
The Opera ligature used to be great. The design of the faceplate and metal composition has been changed, greatly degrading the freedom of vibration.
Instead of solid silver or gold they are now made of a cheaper metal with thick plating.
If you can find an older Brancher that is solid silver, or gold, they are more than worth their weight in, well, gold. It's the best ligature I've played, sadly the newer ones are not so great.

My teacher has a silver one- this baby will give your orchestra hell, not to mention your clarinet section - they'll be so jealous of your powerful sound and projection!
