Diz I was wondering if you can tell me the names of some of the woodwind stores in Sydney. Might be making a trip down depending on whether they can help me or not. Thanks

There's not many, but one I recommend is Sax and Woodwind, in Annandale:
Sax & Woodwind
Shop3/ 158 Parramatta Rd Camperdown 2050 (02) 9557 4588
Fax (02) 9557 4722

There's also MusiCorp, but they're in Melbourne too...
The guy to speak to at the Sydney branch is Rob Murphy.

Thanks guys. Musicorp (For Winds) is in Brisbane too so I already know their situation. Have spoken to Brass n Woodwind in Melbourne, and will give Sax and Woodwind a call, about trialing some Bb clarinets.

Dickson's is the shop in Chatswood. Three mins from the station. If you're in the car, avoid driving through the Chatswood CBD. Park on the edge and walk in.

Dickson's asked me if I was after a B12 or an E11. Apparently that's about all they keep... *crosses Dickson's off my list*

Dickson's (Chatswood) is primarily a provider of instruments for schools. Hence the question about B-11 and E-11s. So, not entirely their fault ...
one has to be, I find, very implicit and exact in how one phrases questions to anyone in retail ... hence why they work in retail (can't wait for the barage of posts in relation to THIS little gem).
