They're not bad --- get a GOOD mouthpiece first (I highly recommend Clark Fobes' Eb mouthpiece), then try the Bundy. Rugged and a good value.

I have a plastic Yamaha Eb clarinet I purchased off Ebay that gives me lots of fun. It plays pretty well and reasonably in tune, especially considering that I haven't even replaced the stock cheap mpc that came with it. Consider what you want it for, and then purchase appropriately.

MOO,
Matt

In spite of being reasonably cheap to purchase, they play very well. I have one that I use for environmently unfavorable playing conditions--you know, rain, sleet, snow, crowd control, emergency tent stake--and have never had any complaints about its sound or intonation. Of course, they are not manufactured to be "in tune", you have to play them in tune--but the good news, with some effort, "in tune" on a Bundy Resonite effer is possible. It is just much easier on a top-drawer pro instrument, but the Bundy's come pretty close. On mine, I use a Selmer HS** mpc, a BG Bb lig and Bb V12s. Have fun--but be careful around fine crystal.

I also have a Bundy Eb resonite clarinet and find it satisfactory.

The local symphony borrowed my R-13 Eb and Bundy Eb, and they used the Bundy for Bolero, so it can be an aceptable horn. Try before you buy if you can. Arthur
