HI,
I just saw a past thread, and I was wondering.....
Is "silver-jazz" really the same guy as "conn-o-sax"? I saw an alto mouthpiece offered by "silver-jazz" that conn-o-sax bid on.

Hi Dawne,

Sometimes there are some bidding "irregularities" on eBay but .... I do not have any knowledge about those two names but if you have that funny feeling....

I'll be interested to see if any one else has any intel as I am a pretty active eBayer.

I don't know exactly which thread you're referring to, but I found one which mentioned the Ebay ID "silverjazz". This is a different ID from "silver-jazz".

Dawne,
Conn-o-sax, silverjazz, and taxijazz may be same person. If you do a search for taxijazz you will find a thread that may make you want to avoid this person.
Regards,
Hans

NO! "silver-jazz" is not the same person as "conn-o-sax" and 'taxijazz".

By the way "silver-jazz" is Canadian dealer.

And, please, let's not speculate in our ansers ever again on whether someone has multiple IDs. If you know for a fact, fine. If you don't know for a fact you can end up ruining a perfectly good reputation!

I don't think either of these has a bad reputation. Taxi/Conn-o-sax/Aleric is a former cab driver in San Francisco. I have a really wild tape of him driving cab in the roller coaster hills in the city, chatting with passengers and playing a soprano sax. Why tourists would encourage a cab driver to race down those hills without his hands on the wheel is open to question. He bought and sold a lot of metal clarinets. The last time I bid against him we bid the same amount to the penny, but he got there first. He has a web site that is interesting, but I don't have the link. Write him and ask for it.

Silver Jazz is much less talkative, but also buys and sells metal clarinets. I think he does more repair work than Aleric.
