 Bettony 3 Star Metal Clarinets

I've been mooching around e-bay looking at the clarinet offerings. At least three different dealers are offering these 3 Star clarinets at this time. What happens? Does a pocket of instruments suddenly appear -- sort of like a nodule of metal ore -- and if so, why not one dealer instead of several? Is this an example of synchronicity?

It's just a matter of chance. I've stopped selling on eBay because people are looking for "bargains" and not willing to pay me for what the instruments are worth. However, when I would list a particular brand of clarinet for sale it seemed that was the week for everyone to list the same model!

Of course the buyers are looking for bargains. Otherwise they would buy at their local store or through local newspaper ads so that they could examine the instrument before purchase.

Sellers on the other hand should only use an auction if they want to sell quickly. Any time they are after a quick sale, they are almost certain to have to compromise on price. If they want or need to get "what its worth," they should take the time and effort to sell locally through newspaper ads, posting at colleges, contacting local instructors, etc.

As far as the Cundy-Bettony 3 star model, there are almost always several listed on ebay at any given time. It is actually rare for there to be none and unusual for there to be only one.

A good word, Wyatt, synchronicity, [from Gr, "together in time" per my dict.!] . Additionally, the Bettoney metal cls are more highly thot of than even some of the good Fr makes. I also bought a 3* via EBAY, gave it the TLC needed, and exchanged it for a chrome-plated mediocre [garage-sale] horn so as to make a mid-high boy happy !! Don
