Anybody got any miracle cures for a cold sore? I have the over-the-counter stuff but now I can't play and I have a performance in six days. Help!

Thanks - I don't think I'd have to suggest it, I don't look too attractive right now. But on to more important things - my performance (oh dear). I will check out your link, thank you.

Susan,
My M.D. prescribed Valtrex (aka Valacyclovir). It's an antiviral drug, most effective taken at the first tingle and 2 times per day for a week afterwards, but it reduces the severity afterwards as well. It works.
You can also dry it out by putting alum on it but that won't shorten the duration by very much in my experience.
Regards,
Hans
