 I've never seen a completely metal clarinet curved like a soprano sax, but have seen at least 2 Bb (soprano) clarinets in alto clarinet format, with a standard body, a curved metal barrel and a curved up metal bell. They played pretty badly, but were not in top condition.

 It's possible that what I remember as "Octanette" was actually "Saxonette." It was all wood and, at least as I recall from many years ago, was in a "U" shape like a small bassoon. As I said in the earlier posting, it was not a satisfactory instrument, as a clarinet, a saxophone or on its own.
