How good is the new Reed Wizard?

Really, really good. I had the old one and upgraded to the new one (which is $225 instead of $300 now) and am very happy with it. The cutting edge is much improved and now basically self cleaning. Also the tool cuts the entire vamp of the reed (you can use it to take wood out of the heart only if needed) instead of just the back of the vamp like the old one did.

Combined with the Ridenour ATG system (for the tip of the reed it is great) I can fix or adjust a new reed in under 2 minutes that is a "concert reed" over and over again.

I'm not an official endorser of either Ben's Reed Wizard nor Tom's ATG system - just a happy user.
