 Gonzalez reeds

On another post, someone mentioned there were different cuts of Gonzalez reeds. I have purchased the FOF and was pretty pleased with how the reeds performed.

A 'red box' was mentioned. Is this the Gonzalez Select reeds? Apparently they respond to the altissimo better. I would like to find out more about this. All the suppliers of reeds have the FOF and I have not seen the 'red box'. Can anyone assist in directing me?

Gonzalez makes 3 different types, or cuts of clarinet reeds.

The Gonzalez FOF reeds now come in blue/brown boxes. You may also still find them in the "first generation" packaging which was a brown/black box.

Gonzalez Regular Cut (RC) reeds come in a red/brown box.

The Mozart reeds are packaged in an all red box.
