I looked in my Rendall and Brymer for Barre and LaBarre,[and will look in Grove] no mention. There is, of course, the Barret [sp?] action [keying for oboe mid staff Bb and C] which is usual on modern oboes etc, and has been applied to some early clarinets. I would guess your cl was made by one of the many small Fr makers. Don
