The current Rico Royal "Graftonite" mouthpieces are so awful I wouldn't even try to use them as artificial thumbs -- they'd probably fail at that task, too...................

Dr David Etheridge once suggested to me that a certain mouthpiece was suitable as a "door stop"....

Funny, Dave Etheridge told me the same thing. The mouthpiece he spied in my clarinet case (along with my Kaspar) was a Selmer Goldentone...GBK (to this day, still not sure how it ended up in my case)
