A couple days ago, I had a friend here, and she brought her clarinet, and I had my flute, and we played some stuff together. Then she wanted to try my flute and I wanted to try her clarinet. Neither of us had ever set mouth on the instrument we were trying, so we helpled each other etc. Then we both realised that we wanted to keep up the instruments we were playing at the moment, but wanted to learn each others too! Thats when we started looking for instruments. I found a used Buffet B-12 clarinet at our local music store. They also had a yamaha clarinet for us to look at, so we took them both home, to look at and took them to an experienced clarinet player, who, somewhat biased by the fact that she had always had buffet clarinets in her life, thought that out of the two used instruments, the buffet was better. I thought so too. The yamaha had broken dirty pads; the buffet did not, the yamaha was very 'clikety-clakety', the buffet was not. So after much consideration, se are going to go ahead with the buffet B-12! (unless something strange happens in the next two hours! lol mso if you have any sudden urges for me not to do this, say it fast) Ahyway, thanks for listening to my blabber,
Sheila

HAHA! That's cool, the buffet B12 is a good starting instrument... I have one I got off of EBAY... I've only been playing the clarinet for a year, no prior wind instrument experience... I've been playing piano for two years... So, that's my story... Good luck to ya on your clarinetting..
