Perhaps the problem is not that you need a thicker Ab, but that you need a thinner A.
Metal removal is a common fix, but I hate removing metal except as a last resort.
Another reason you want to go thinner on the A if possible has to do with venting issues.
A thicker Ab decreases your venting which can lead to all sorts of tuning and tonal problems.
If you are playing a high quality instrument like that, you owe it to yourself to have a top notch repair person check it and voice it for you. Odds are if you are having that problem, you have other issues that you do not know about.
