Finding name of clarinet with model number

Hi,

I am relatively new to the site and was wondering if there was an area in which you could enter in a model number of a clarinet and get information about the model.

Nowhere to my knowledge is there a place where there's a model number -> information section.

I have a copy of a "display poster", supplied to an instrument dealer, I believe, of a 1980's "line up" of Leblanc clarinets which lists model #'s and brief descriptions. It is very useful to me, SO, I'd suggest you see what the "catalog flyers" give you, and perhaps ask your music store to view their literature, maybe even photocopy a page or so from their books for your PERSONAL USE ONLY, as it is prob. copyrighted material. Buying an inst from them would be appropriate. OK, MC??

Actually, the two best places I can think of are this bulletin board or the Klarinet list. If you can tell us the make (Buffet, Selmer, Yamaha, Silvertone, etc.) and the model number (e.g., 1193), there may be someone who give you some detailed info about the instrument.

If all you have is a SERIAL number (usually stamped on the back of an instrument), however, without a make, it will probably be difficult to obtain any further info.

If you are taking your information from an actual instrument, your best bet is to describe all the logos, numbers, etc. in as much detail as possible. If you are taking your information from a catalog, tell us the make and model number.
