Hi,
I believe there are a few Chuck Hedges' fans here. I recently found two cds that are just great.
One is: Duane Thamm and the Chuck Hedges Swingtet, Tribute To Hamp. This is really good. This is a 2004 release of a concert from 12/24/02 at The Harold Washington Library Center. It was taped (I believe) from the audience by Duane Thamm Jr. I'm not sure why it wasn't a sound board recording ... but, it's really great stuff.
The other one I just got in today. It's a 1978 recording that was reissued in 1997. The title is: Barrett Deems Deemus with Chuch Hedges. This also is really great stuff. Both of these are on Delmark Records.
If anyone knows of any more "obscure" Hedges' material, please let me know!
Thanks

I have two hour long cassette tapes I recorded at Brookfields Red Mill Inn featuring Chuck on clarinet along with a rhythm section of piano, bass and drums. Just laid my cassette player on my table and turned it on. Lots of crowd noise and more like a jam session--but Chuck at his absolute best. Not for sale or dub, but you asked for "obscure" and it dont get much more "out there" than that.
(with Chucks permission, of course)
