Does anyone knwo anything about McClune mouthpieces? I tried a couple of his mpcs at clarinetfest, and liked his refaced M13s, but he wants almost $200 for them! I was like w00T!? But I was impressed, I just don't know much about him.

McClune(if we are talking of the same one) is professor of clarinet at a small school in west TN called Union University. Whereas I do not know him to a great extent, I know several people here in Memphis who have tried his mouthpieces and like them alot. If you are still looking for more info, try searching for the Union U webpage. I am sure it will have a bio on him. As far as a player, I know he plays in the Jackson Symphony and subs on occasion with the Memphis Symphony.

"w00T"? Not to be picky (I know we don't harp on spelling errors), but I believe that term is usually reserved for expression of extreme joy or satisfaction, or bragging... as in "I found a mint condition R-13 at a garage sale for $15, w00t!!!!"

Just trying to save some embarrassment down the line... unless, of course, you meant that $200 was a bargain.

Yeah, I know. I always seem to use the term in times of excitement and confusion. I am fairly up to date on teh 1337 language. ;)

$200? Are you sure about that? He has a website at http://www.mcclunemouthpiece.com/. It's a couple of months old, but his prices are closer to $100 than $200. You can do a search for "mcclune" on the board, it's come up a couple of times. Highly recommended.

By the way .. I'm not so sure that "Chicks" dig Unix.
