"It was a dark and stormy night"

Leeson's book, The Mozart Forgeries(...or was it the Martian Chronicles...whatever....) does not begin with that hack "stormy night" line, nor does it start with "Call me Leesonael," BUT --yippee-- it just arrived on my doorstep, courtesy of Gary Van Cott's quick dispatch.

I hoped to read it on a minivacation/visit to the New Jersey shore --sorry Prof Leeson, a good book can still be a "beach-read." I was to visit a chum from high school days, a professional clarinetist (he has talent and works hard at it.....dastardly combination, that) . Alas I had to return to glorious Picksburrrgh (note the NFL films rolling rrrrr) before cracking the binder....oh well.......

Why the post? Well it seems the Klarinet list is redolent with praise for the tome, so I figured ..why not here on the BB as well.
Heck, one thread sequed into Hawking and black holes, so this BB could certainly take on the world of literature.

And so to bed....book tucked under arm, g'day

It was the best of forgeries
It was the worst of forgeries.

Once upon a time.

In a galaxy far far away

All Mozart is divided in...

In the beginning....

I am 3/4 of the way through Dan's book, I must add that besides being GREAT, it is very educational. I now know more than I ever wanted to know about making rag paper, goose quill pens, watermarks, etc etc...but I don't want to spoil it so I won't tell you any more. I definitely recommend it though!

As soon as I am finished, I am sending to Dan so he can sign it.
