I have one and use V12 3.5s and 4s and a Joue Jolie lig (available only from IMS). It's kind of a tight fit with the Jolie, but it works; both my Bonade inverted and my old Harrison have/had slippage problems. It also works okay with a Rovner.
IMO, the tip opening feels a lot smaller than the comparison charts indicate, so you may find it worthwhile to consider a Ruby or Sapphire.

In my most recent Pomarico mp "flyers", the Emerald is described as "Closed" with the more-opens as Ruby, Sapphire and Diamond with tip opening and lay-length dimensions given, very helpful for choosing. Reed-strength suggestions are given, progressing from "hard to soft" 3 1/2 down to 2, which describes my experience. Re: ligs, I still like the Bonade for security, and the Luyben or a "reversed" fabric to help me toward "dark" tonality [on sop]. Like the M Lurie on bass. Am playing more bass than sop. now, tho. I too have found that Pomaricos feel smaller (the tip opening) than the stated opening would seem to indicate. For that reason I recommend using the more open models. Even the very open jazz models play easily with a warm rich tone that is suitable for classical. I use a regular (two screws underneath) Bonade lig on my Pom. No slipping problems and it seems to allow the reed to vibrate freely.

I should also mention that I had my Pomarico model Jazz** opened up a little from the factory facing by Dave Spiegelthal who did an expert job. It's now very open (.060" or so) but plays easily with a #3 reed. Dave says he was using a #4 with no problem but he must have better chops than me. Still the piece plays surprising easily considering how open it is. The chalumeau register feels like playing alto sax. A big free-blowing sound. Overall the sound is strong and full but with less edginess than one would expect from such an open piece. Having Dave open it up turned a very nice versatile piece into a jazz powerhouse. But a powerhouse with warmth and richness to the sound. The Jazz** was a good piece right out of the box. Dave has made it a great piece.
