Hello all,
Does anyone know of a source for the orchestrations of concerti? I need some examples of those with a smaller orchestration...as I've been given a free hand by a chamber orchestra.

One source is the Kalmus catalog. You could check orchestrations that they carry (they have many) either on line or request a printed catalog.

Mark - the database doesn't seem to give actual orchestrations, or am I seeing it wrong?
I also noted that the Nielsen Concerto is listed as Bb clarinet and orchestra.

For music with > 12 instruments - no, the orchestrations aren't given.

I'm with larryb on that one ... at the very least Kalmus tells you EXACTLY what orchestration is used (except for band music where it's not quite so comprehensive). Errors aside, they are also generally great to deal with, except they are tardy when it comes to returns, I'm afraid (that's been my experience). Doesn't stop me buying their goods, however.
