I received an email suggesting a few very high soprano clarinet fingerings to be added to the Woodwind Fingering Guide. They are beyond my range, so I cannot test them out. Would anyone like to try them out and let me know if they work?
Tim Reichard
The fingerings:
========================================
These work at least on good Bb Soprano Clarinets
F6 TR 1--|--3(UPPERINSIDE PINKYG#/Ab/Eb/D#) QUITE AIRY
C7 SAME AS GIVEN F6. CONVENIENT FOR PLAYING F6, C7, D7, F7, &G7 IN SUCCESSION
D7 SAME AS GIVEN F6. CAN BE VERY PIERCING(FULL TONE)
F7 " " " " BEST RESPONSE/TUNING ON F7 I'VE EXPERIENCED BY FAR
G7 SAME AS GIVEN F6
G7 TRA 1--|--3(UPPERINSIDE PINKYG#/Ab/Eb/D#) BETTER RESPONSE THAN F6 FINGERING
A#7 SAME AS GIVEN G7. SEEMS LIKE A PERFECT EMBOCHURE IS REQUIRED.

Tim...
The first suggested F6 fingering is actually a flat F#6 fingering which would never be useable. There are more than 12 fingerings for F#6 which are much better in both response and tuning.
All the other fingerings are useless.
My suggestion is not to include any of the above submissions...GBK (frequent contributor to the Woodwind Fingering Guide)

Thanks, GBK. I'll leave the fingerings out of the Guide, especially since I wrote back and found that the email address doesn't actually exist.
