Is Katzin Music still in business? I got to know their great repairman when we had a condo near there [before 1994], and he should be able to make cork pads for your clar. My LeBlanc clar has corks on the upper joint, and after quite a bit of playing are still very tight! I had my wood Garde oboe overhauled [$300] by Carl McGuire in Tulsa,OK and after quite a struggle, and with his and my testing, the corks are now sealing tightly!! I guess its no simple job, tho! I can give you his phone and address if you wish. How's the snow for skiing? Don

Hello,
Thanks for replying! Katzin is still here and it is the worst music store I think I have ever been in! I had them replace a pad on my oboe, for $30, and it was completely messed up after that! So I am definetly not going there....oh and about the snow there is NONE! I think there are only two runs open at purg., sad hu. Do you play oboe and clarinet? I am playing both, and everyone says they are the worst instruments to double, but I just can't stop playing one! Hope you have a wonderful New year!

Tom Ridenour, in Denton, Tx., does custom repair work--cork pads, tuning, etc. He has a web-site, look him up. His work is excellant. He is the one that designed the Concerto and Opus clarinets when he was with LeBlanc and really knows his "stuff."

Great advice, William, should have suggested that to Anne earlier. [Snowed in yet?] Don
