this year at districts our band played this piece by Johann de Meij and im trying to figure out the opening rhythm. anyone heard of this piece and know what it is?

I purchased the CD with that recording, as well as the "Candide Suite" because my band will be playing it next year. You are fortunate to have played "The Big Apple", that's an amazing piece of music, in my opinion, and very modern. I'm curious, how did you guys do the 2nd movement? On the recording, there is much talking, chaos, and police sirens. Hmm. Anyway, let me know if I can help.
