reed case - again!

Hi all,

I posted a question a few weeks back about different types of reed cases. I recently bought one with a glass plate and it seems to be working fine...... just one question.....

Is the base or the tip of the reed supposed to go under the elastic? I first presumed the base as I didn't want the tip getting damaged, but it's really difficult to get the base under the elastic as it's quite tight. The tip can be easily slid in but the base requires a certain amount of manouvering (spelling?!?) as the elastic end of the glass is inset further into the box, so now I'm confused.......
