Aussie - you going? - I'm putting Aunty on the radio, taking the phone off the hook and putting the speakers up to "storm trooper".

diz - yeah I went. It was a great concert, I don't think I've ever heard the orchestra play as well as it did. I thought there were a couple of hiccups in Till Eulenspiegel, but regardless I thought it was energetic, and very captivating. The oboe concerto was electrifying, Diana always makes me wish I played the oboe. And then Brahms was just so refined I could hardly believe what I was hearing. My teacher was playing the Eb solo in Till Eulenspiegel and I think he played principal in Brahms. I'll be sure to congratulate him.

Aussie - I listened to the broadcast, thanks for the tip off. Yes, Diana's playing was (as always) the best in the world. She's playing another Aussie concerto at Carnegie Hall with the NYPO and Maazel early next year.
