If any of you live out in the Chicago land area take some time to come out and hear the Wheaton Municipal Band. It's a group with with some of the best musicians around. It's not your typical community band, blind auditions are held ever year to maintain an extremely high standard.
This thursday night at 8 p.m Col. Foley of the presidents own will be conducting the ensemble and he will also be bring three solists including a clarinetist in the marine band to play a concerto with the band. It should be a fantastic performance. Come and enjoy!

Are you in the band, LeOpus?
I'm in a "typical" municipal band here in Corpus that plays at only one dynamic level (and it ain't piano), but danged if it isn't the most fun group I'm in. We play on Sunday nights in the summer at a bayfront park, and since the 4th of July falls on a Sunday this year, we're playing! Yay! I freakin' love the 4th!a

Yes! he's a very good clarinetist, also a heck of a lawyer no? I believe he also provides the organization with legal advice as well. It's a fantastic thing when someone can be so accomplished on the clarinet yet be in another profession as well.
The Wheaton Municipal Band performs in the Wheaton Band Shell. For more information check out the website. WheatonMunicipalBand.org

Yes, he plays clarinet very well. He is the priciple in our group at the College of Lake County in the Fall and Spring. Where do you sit in the group? I might be able to say hello.

i'm in a community band like that. lets see, trumpets think pp is 'plenty powerful' and mp is 'massively powerful', mf is louder than mp, so we blow even harder...

Sorry you got rained out. I backed out since the weather was bad and was driving up from Buffalo Grove. I heard you played the SSB and then called off the concert. I will make it to another one.
