Hi guys!
I have listened plenty of different clarinet recordings lately. I have noticed that some players are playing some notes differently than they are usually played. For instance: Yesterday I listened Guy Dangain playing Debussy´s Rhapsody and there were a couple of notes that sounded odd to my ear.
Do you know why some clarinetists are playing few notes differently than they are written? Is it, because they want to stand out or what?
Thank you all!

Maybe those "couple of notes" were simply the only errors on an otherwise flawless recording that the clarinetist decided were not worth re-doing, perhaps reasoning, "who will notice anyway?"
(Hmmmm...I heard that)

William,
First I thought so too, but I´t seems that those notes were the very same one´s that were discussed in the text above.
