My intention is not to brag, but to say that I get to do something I, as a long-time amateur, have long dreamed about but didn't really expect to happen. The Indiana Wind Symphony, of which I have been a member for a little over a year, is recording a CD for sale. The first recording session is tonight. The CD will feature band music, including a lot of marches, by Indiana composers. The vast majority will be from the early twentieth century, but may include a work by a contemporary composer. As I understand, the Indiana Historical Society is producing it. It will be released in September.
Here's hoping the rest of you get such an opportunity sometime in your life.
Hmmm...Did someone say "Grammy nomination"?
