We had a guy come to our school and show us some Selmer clarinets. He says he isn't a rep or sales person, but I think he was. lol. His name is Jean-Francois... I forgot his last name. I'm sure someone has heard of him.
Anyway, I played on a couple of the Selmers, and they were really nice. I liked the Signature and Recital. Which one is the fat one (as I like to call it, a lot of wood, small bore)?
On to my point...
My school is mainly a Buffet school, I think only 2 people play Selmers. One just switched from Buffets to Selmers after buying Loren Kitt's (who teaches at our school) set.
Also, the school bought a Selmer bass clarinet a couple of years ago, but it doesn't seem that Selmer is at the top of list of clarinets to look at. Why is this? Is it because people are used to saying Buffet is that best or what?
