Hey guys, I'm going to be selecting instruments from the Buffet factory in France in july. Ok so I know how to look for cracks and I sort of know what good wood grain looks like. My question is in regards to resistance. I heard somewhere that its best to choose something with slightly more resistance than you actually want because the clarinets will open up as they are played in? Is this true. WHat are your thoughts. Thanks

I think mine has become more free-blowing, but that might just be because my air is a lot better now than when I got it 2 years ago.

Good point Rachel. Maybe this "opening up" is really just you getting USED to the resistance . . .
